the fitness level of our brains? Done regularly, some mental gymnastics
can make your more alert and perhaps even a bit smarter. Here are three
exercises to try:
- Using one hand, draw a sideways figure
eight in the in air in front of you. Then do the same with the other
hand. Now, clasp both hands and draw it again, following it with your
eyes. Repeat five times. Done prior to reading, this exercise improves
eye-muscle coordination and can help your reading speed and
comprehension.
- To diminish confusion and stimulate your
energies, place one hand over your navel. Next, place your index
finger and thumb of the other hand just below your collarbone. Rub
these points for about 10 seconds.
- Standing up, lift your left knee and
reach to touch it with your right hand. Do the same, touching your
left hand to your right knee. Keep alternating for a full minute to
improve your coordination.
